Hi Scott,

Ah, macros! Yes, I do keep them turned off, although I tested briefly this morning with them turned on.

What I don't know about macros could fill a book - I can do basic stuff in Excel, and never needed more.

I did go ahead and install the Wordpress plugin. Seems like a pretty cool little tool. And the local version would be something my son would play around with. May as well get him started on this stuff young!

@Elizabeth: Take a look at this:
http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/weightmonitor.html

Here's a quote from that page:

Load the worksheet WEIGTEMP.XLS (it loads several other files automatically).

WEIGTEMP.XLS comes configured for monitoring weight in pounds. If you measure your weight in kilograms, enter 0 in the cell that displays “Pounds” in the “Weight” column; to specify your weight in stones, enter −1 in this cell. If you change the system of measurement, use FILE SAVE to update WEIGTEMP.XLS on your disc. When you create logs for subsequent years, then, the units you prefer will already be selected.

The files this guy created uses EXCEL macros. So, if you have macros disabled, then the files will not work. I know that when I used those excel files, I had to fix the macros to get them to work perfectly on my Office Version (especially when I upgraded).

I hope that helps. I think you'll find if you want to enter your weight remotely on the web, using Excel becomes difficult.

Hi Scott;

I have to weigh every day. It's in my blood.

I have the hacker diet plugin - I just haven't installed it yet, and I did a search for hackdiet like you suggsted, downloaded the
Excel files and can't make heads or tails of them :)

I'll be checking out simpleweight.com soon.

Thank you for dropping by!

I have heard those comments too about not weighing yourself daily, but I do it. I think you have to do it.

I've read too many studies that say people who weigh themselves daily lose more weight than those who don't. Additionally, people who lose weight after their weight loss keep it off. I've detailed some of the studies at my blog.

What I do to prevent getting depressed is concentrate on the trends. I know that anyone's weight can fluctuate 3 to 5 lbs due to water weight. So, I keep that in mind, and if I want to lose weight, I just watch my trend.

There are some good excel spreadsheets for tracking your weight if you google hackdiet.

I got tired of using excel, and I built the weight management tool: Simpleweight.com. Let me know what you think.

I only recently found your blog. It looks interesting. I look forward to reading some more.

Good luck on your weight management.
