You on a Diet
I only saw the first 10 minutes of Oprah today: the doctor (Mehmet Oz) who wrote You: On a Diet was on.
He was primarily talking about Omentum – that’s momentum without the m. He actually had samples of this stuff – one sample was from a healthy – albeit – dead person, and one from an unhealthy – dead person. Omentum is the stuff that collects around your belly. More collects the fatter you are. A healthy person only has a little bit.
Think Relacore or the South Beach Diet – lose your waist.
Oh, and something else he said, quick before I forget it. A woman’s safe waist size is 32 1/2 or below and a man’s is 34 inches.
As the doctor was talking about the yucky omentum – which Oprah was actually holding…eww! it occured to me that I have a picture of myself with this layer of Omentum showing. I always thought it was fat but I don’t think it was. How can I have a picture of this you ask? From my csection. Pictures were taken and there I am in all my glory with my stomach cut from stem to stern – and you can see this layer of white just as plain as can be. I’ll have to dig my csection pics out and post the one I’m thinking of. I’m sure you’re just dying to see it.
Anyway, I ordered the book – the brief bit I saw today really piqued my interest.
