Baby Corn with Straw Mushrooms

Baby Corn with Straw Mushrooms

Ingredients:
12 oz. babycorn (cut into halves if large)
8 oz. straw mushrooms (rinsed and drained well)
4 oz.bamboo shoots (cut into 1/16″ x 5/8″ x 1?” slices)
3 oz. peapods
2 garlic cloves (remove skin and chopped fine) or 2 t. minced garlic
1 1/4 t. salt
2 T.cooking oil (peanut or other oil)
2 T.chicken broth, beef broth, vegetable broth, or water
2 T. corn starch [seasoned thickener]
3 T. chicken broth, beef broth, vegetable broth, or water
1 T. light soy sauce
1 T. oyster flavored
1/2 t. sugar
1/4 t. MSG (optional)

Preparation:

1. Remove fibers at pea side of pea podfrom both ends. Follow
cutting directions for baby corn, bamboo shoots, and garlic cloves.
Create seasoned thickener by combining seasoned thickener
ingredients in a bowl and mixing well. Set aside.

2. Heat wok until very hot. Add garlic cloves, salt, and
cookingoil. Add in baby corn, straw mushrooms, bamboo shoots,
and broth.

3. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the pea pods. Cover and
cook for one minute more. Remove cover and stir in the
seasoned thickener to desired consistency. Serve and enjoy!
