Oh, your mind is in the gutter isn’t it?? Shame shame shame! LOL.
Anyway. I want to mention blowing it.
I think that most dieters fail because they get to a point and they wind up blowing it. Then it’s beat myself up time, shoot me, failure, depression and the dieter falls off the wagon. Instead of getting back on and continuing with the diet, they sink deeper into the abyss and simply give up.
First of all, the dieter needs to realize that they are human, and the chances are good that they’re gonna screw it up now and then.
This doesn’t make one a bad person. And it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doomed to failure.
If you do have a day that you absolutely blow it, it’s ok. In fact: I say enjoy it! If you’ve just pigged out on a death by chocolate dessert – with whipped cream – enjoy every bite, and don’t kill yourself over it. Accept that fact that you’re behaving like a human.
And go right back on your diet the next day. If you want to be a bit more strict with yourself, that’s cool. If you don’t, that’s cool too.
Years ago when I succeeded on my low fat diet, I scheduled myself for “controlled blow its.” Seriously. Every 6 weeks to 2 months – sometimes longer – I planned a pigout day, which included a day of me just stuffing my face, basically with anything I could get my hands on. Some blowit days were more piglike than others. Some days I really surprised myself. Here I was allowing myself an indulgence and I didn’t indulge. Go figure.
Note: I did not give up exercising for that day.
I always went right back to dieting the next day. By allowing myself a bit of leeway, I was able to succeed with dieting for the first time in my life.
