Weighing In
As of today, I’ve lost 54 pounds. The weight is coming off drop by drop, folks. You can hear it in the night -drip….drip….drip….just like a broken water faucet. What I want it to do is pour!
Babyboy, I’m proud to say, has lost 10 pounds. It just goes to show you how a healthy diet can work – he’s not dieting like I am but I’m working on him becoming concious of food labels, and portion sizes and such. It also helps that he’s not in school, so the sugar/junk ratio is way down.
He’s also grown 2 inches, so it really makes a difference to him as well, because he can see the changes too – the other day he put on a pair of shorts that I bought for him last year (that he wore once and then they were too small) and he was like “Mom! These are too big!”
We talked about continuing on watching what he eats once school starts, and he immediately went into junk food mode: talking about pizza parties and ice cream parties and the candy he can get at school. He associates school with junk food.
This year I’m considering walking to pick him up from school, as opposed to driving. It’s a mile and a half one way. In the hot, broiling sun. I know he’s game for it.
