Dance Dance Revolution
Recently I was going through one of my Freecycle lists and someone was offering a Dance Dance Revolution CD.
I sent a quick email saying I’d take it. I knew nothing about it – I thought it was a regular exercise CD. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
I didn’t realize 2 things about Dance Dance Revolution: it’s been around for 8 years, and it’s a DVD for the Playstation 2. Finally something I can do with a Playstation! Finally -a video game I can use!
The Dance Dance Revolution was a first effort to prove that video games tend to rob kids of the physical activity that is important to their well being and health. DDR helps to bring an end to the couch potato.
The developers decided to create a game that so that a player’s score was based on the ability to dance by following the game directions.
Dance Dance Revolution is great for the person who is competitive. It has several difficulty levels, and allows you to combine the games with others who own the same game, and then you can create competitions.
This is a fun for any age game. Get everyone in the family to start competing against each other, or you can play with yourself. Not only is it fun, but it does provide a certain amount of aerobic activity, and is great for your legs. Adding Dance Dance Revolution to your fitness routine as an alternative exercise will be great for calorie burning, toning and strengthening your body.
There are a lot of copycat versions of the Dance Dance Revolution game, which should give you an idea of how popular this Playstation game is. Try it out as an alternative exercise.
Other dance video games include Dance Dance Revolution 2, Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, and Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova.
