Fitball Sport Fitness Ball
Right before I got sick, I got another fitness ball for my son to use: Fitball Sport fitness ball. We got a DVD along with the fitness ball: Fitball Kids DVD.
The Fitball Sport Fitness ball
I wanted to note a few things about this ball.
The Fitball Sport is burst resistant. I got the Fitball Sport soft edition package. It came with:
A pump (although you can use a mattress pump or an air raft pump too)
A poster showing exercises you can do
Care of the ball guide
Inflation instructions
A BallDynamics Catalog
The Fitball Sport fitness ball is very sturdy – holds up to 1250 pounds – so if you’re really heavy, want to try a fitness ball, this is the one for you. The rubber is extremely thick – it puts my other fitness ball to shame – the difference between the two is amazing. The rubber it’s made of is strong, again, my other ball simply cannot compare to it. It’s also soft and comfortable. Ball Dynamics has other fitness balls that hold even more weight. You can get the Fitball Sport fitness ball in 4 sizes:
45 centimeters – For those 5 years old or up to 4’8.
55 centimeters – If you’re 4’8 – 5’3 tall.
65 centimeters – If you’re 5’3 – 6’0 tall.
75 centimeters – If you’re 6’0 – 6’7 tall.
The Fitball Sport Fitness ball is $23.95 – $20 less than what I paid for my first fitness ball.
The Fitball Kids DVD
I also got the Fitball Kids DVD:
Unfortunately, we only got around to blowing it up, and even though my son uses it all the time – he sits on it, rolls around on it, bounces on it, we haven’t done any structured exercise with it to speak of, short of testing it.
He wants me to do the exercises with him from the Fitball Kids DVD, and I’m just not up to it yet. But he did do the exercises for a couple of days and did the exercises with ease.
And for a true test of your balancing abilities: test it as a footstool in your favorite chair. If you’re anything like me, you won’t be able to keep it in one spot!
The Fitball Kids DVD has three 20 minute workouts. While I haven’t done them myself, I have watched the DVD a couple of times.
The workouts are designed for kids between the ages of 7 and 14 and move along quickly to prevent boredom and work on stretching, cardiovascular and strength in each workout. They would work for an adult who isn’t used to working out with a fitness ball as well.
